Werkman Outfitters, located in Grand Haven, Michigan, offers year-round fishing guide service on the Grand River, in and near Grand Rapids, Michigan, as well as the Muskegon River and White River. The company was started by Tom Werkman and his son Max as a result of the passion the two of them shared for fishing the tributaries of the Great Lakes for salmon, steelhead, trout, smallmouth bass and northern pike.
In addition to river fishing, we also offer fishing charters on Lake Michigan, Lake Erie and Saginaw Bay. Our fishing guides and charter boat captains have over 75 years of combined experience to get you on fish.
Our guides use this simple philosophy; use multiple fishing techniques to catch multiple species of fish to maximize success on the water. As as a result, we use different fishing techniques depending on river conditions, which include fly fishing, center pin, back plug and traditional light spin gear.
The result of this philosophy means that, depending on the time year, water flows and migration times, our fishing guides may fish other rivers such as the Muskegon or White.
Above all, our fishing guides are fully permitted by United States Forest Service to guide on the White River and by the State of Michigan to guide on the Grand and Muskegon Rivers. In addition, some of our guides have their Merchant Mariner Credentials with the designation of Captain. The United States Coast Guard has issued these credentials which allow our captains access on all federal waters of the Great Lakes and its tributaries.
Remember, there is more than one method to catching fish. So book with Werkman Outfitters to make the most of your time on the water.
